Maintenance of certification
Most board certifications follow the traditional path of full re-certification every 10 years, requiring you to submit prerequisites, pay for and re-take the exam in full. Because of the wide-spread dissatisfaction with this model, the IBLM, with the full support of the national certification bodies (ABLM, ACLM, BSLM, PCLM etc.) has created an alternative pathway to maintaining your lifestyle medicine certification.
Simply read the required 3 articles selected by an IBLM expert panel and answer 80% of the questions about the articles correctly each year. In addition, obtain 30 hours of Lifestyle Medicine specific CME every 5 years and remain certified indefinitely.
